C.A.P. #5: Clarity

This design may have been the toughest one to put together so far. My first attempt for the next C.A.P. design was actually going to be (I thought) about abundance. However, when I opened the records to ask for assistance in making such a design it seemed as though now is not the appropriate time for it. So I guess I will be revisiting that at another time, ha! I held off for several weeks before digging back in. In such confusing and tumultuous times there must be something more important right now. Well obviously that's it! It's clarity that is so important right now! But what does that even mean? It's 17th century Latin root "claritas" means "clear." Some may define this as our intuition, some may define it as sharpness or coherence. Whichever definition you prefer, we all have a certain degree of it and we'd probably love a little more.

What I heard and subsequently journaled (via automatic writing), was that our own discernment is our true north. We learn our discernment in various ways, for some it's the feelings in their body and for others it is a silent knowing. Our feelings give us an indication, baring in mind how well we understand our inner landscape, tells us our truth. Anxiety is a great example. It tells us something but what? Anxiety could mean a person or place is unsafe but this can also be confused with excitement. Maybe an excitement you didn't expect OR an excitement that you aren't comfortable having. Maybe the anxiety stems from being triggered, in which case the anxiety is a replay of an old memory, an unhealed trauma, that you didnt't know was there. It's a piece of gold! Now you know where the healing work lies. The work isn't easy or quick by any means but it reveals your own true north, your alignment. The healing work on triggers helps to make your own inner compass strong, especially in times of distresss. The clarity can be in every moment that we allow it to be. Our heart always knows. When we embrace stillness the mind can be free in the present moment. Sadhguru says, "You're seeking confidence because you have no clarity about life. [When you] have no clarity you fall to the second option-which is confidence. If you could see clearly you'd pass through life effortlessly."

Are you aligned with purpose or driven by fear? Anxiety coupled with over thinking, tightness in the chest, the what-ifs, restless energy...this is not rooted in trust, this is force.

The feeling of desperation is an inner alarm pushing you to chase what might not be right, masked as determination. As Brene Brown puts it, "the difference being that determination is grounded in self worth and desperation in a lack of time, resources, or a lack of self trust."

While this whole topic is a lot to cover in one (or several) blog posts, this is at least an overview. It goes without saying that the clarity and inner peace and trust all go hand and hand (see previous posts). When I posted this image in my IG story for my audience to

comment on, some said you felt the pain of change and growth, valor, or maybe something evil is coming my way! I hope not! Although I initially drew the image the same way I normally do (simplified version in top left of painting), for this one I decided to draw the initial shapes into recognizable images. So far most of these C.A.P. designs are somewhat abstract so this was a bit of an experiment. See where I'm going here? What you felt when you saw the image may be an indicator of what you're experiencing right now and everyone is going through something a little different. Different life stages, different views/experiences of the world, different stages of awakening and no answer is a wrong one. For me it was more the 4 elements (earth, air, water, fire), the snake for transformation, and all of the colors represent seeing a full spectrum.

I will keep at this and see what comes up next time! Truth be told I've been getting a lot of symbols and interesting images in mediation and dreams lately. I'm not certain yet what they mean or if they mean anything but they certainly aren't what I would normally draw. Take a deep breath....Take another deep breath.....and another one. Keep going. I can promise you this is the first step to clearing your mind of clutter and gaining your clarity. Feel free to reach out to me if you have any questions or comments about this stuff (or tattoos, ha!). While I'm a tattooer by trade all of these concepts I blog about are also a passion of mine. Take another deep breath. Remember to check in with yourself often, is this determination or desperation? Am I grounded in self worth or panicked due to a lack of self trust. I hope this was helpful to you and as always thank you for your continued support!
